Lasagna Bolognese

For the cheese sauce

2 tablespoons plain flour
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups milk
½ cup parmesan/cheddar cheese, grated

For layering

Beef bolognese; click here for recipe
9-12 Lasagna Sheets
½ cup mozzarella cheese


Make bolognese sauce, see recipe here . Pre-heat oven to 190°C

In a sauce pan over medium low, melt the butter. Add flour, cook until smooth; about 3-4 minutes

Add the milk little by little; stirring until the sauce thickens

Add the cheddar cheese, stir until melted

Spread a thin layer of bolognese sauce in the bottom of a baking dish

Add a layer of lasagna sheets on top of the bolognese sauce, then add another layer of bolognese sauce on top of the lasagna sheets (when using lasagna sheets, remember some need pre-boiling before use. Use according to the packet instructions)

Spread an even layer of the cheese sauce on top of the bolognese sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with cheese sauce

Top with mozzarella cheese

Cover the baking dish with foil, bake for 15-20 minutes (use the time according to the packet instructions)

Remove foil, bake for another 5-10 minutes; or until browned

Serve as desired, enjoy!
