Buttermilk Biscuits

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup salted butter, frozen
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon butter, melted

Ingredients for homemade buttermilk

3/4 tablespoon vinegar
3/4 cup milk


Preheat oven to 175 degrees C. If you want to make your own buttermilk at home, mix together the milk and vinegar, let the mixture rest for about 5 minutes

In a large bowl sift the dry ingredients; flour, baking powder and salt. Add sour cream, mix well using your fingers

Grate the frozen butter

Add grated butter into the flour mixture right away. Mix to combine. Stir in the buttermilk little by little, mix to combine. Put the dough onto a floured surface. Roll and cut into the shapes of your choice

Bake for 12-14 minutes; brush with the 1 tablespoon of melted butter. Bake for another 1 minute

Serve as desired
