Mango-avocado salsa

Chilling time; 30 mins
Total time; 15 min plus chilling time


1 large mango
1 large avocado
1 small onion
1 green chilli
1 lime
1 teaspoon ginger
2 tablespoons coriander leaves
Salt to taste


Dice mango, avocado and onion into very small pieces; grate ginger; finely chop chilli and coriander leaves; squeeze lime juice

In a small bowl, mix half of the lime juice and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Place diced onion in the mixture and let sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes

In a mixing bowl, add mango, chilli and ginger. Mash with the back of a spoon or a potato masher until juices of mangoes are released but with some bites of it left

Add avocado, onion mixture and coriander leaves. Season with salt to taste and more lime juice if desired

Cover bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes

Serve as desired
