Chilli-Honey potato fries

For crispy potatoes

500g potatoes
3 tablespoons corn flour/ corn starch
Salt to taste
Oil for frying


1 teaspoon garlic and ginger paste
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons chili sauce
½ red capsicum
1 teaspoon hoisin sauce (optional)
¼ cup spring onion


Peel cut potatoes into fries; seed and cut red capsicum into long strips; finely chop spring onion; mince garlic; grate ginger

In a mixing bowl, place potatoes and season them with salt. Add corn starch, mix well to coat

In a frying pan over medium high heat, bring the oil to boil. Add coated potatoes, cook until crispy and light brown. Remove from oil, drain oil

In a wok over medium high heat, boil the 1 tablespoon oil. Add ginger-garlic paste. Cook for about 30 seconds, the add capsicum. Cook until crispy, about 2 minutes. Add spring onion, cook for a few seconds

Add honey, hoisin sauce, soy sauce and chili sauce. Cook for another 1 minute

Add the deep-fried potatoes, mix to coat

Serve hot
