Simple Milk rice

Prep time; 5mins
Soaking time; 30 min
Cooking time; 20 min
Total time; 25 mins + soaking time


1 cup rice
4 cups water
3-4 cups milk
Salt to taste
Honey or sugar (optional)
Cinnamon (optional)


Wash and soak rice for at least 30min, or better overnight

In a saucepan over medium high heat, bring water to boil. Add the rice to the boiling water, and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Remove from heat and drain

Boil milk over medium heat. Add rice and salt; lower the heat

Let rice cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently, until the rice is well cooked. Add more milk, if necessary to reach your desired thickness

Serve warm, cold or room temperature with honey or sugar; fruits of your choice and ground cinnamon
