Beef-vegetable stir fry

Beef and vegetables

400g steak, (flank steak, Entrecote, sirloin steak etc)
4 tablespoons olive oil
Mixed bell peppers
1 onion
1 large carrot
1/2 cup spring onion
Salt and pepper to taste
Cilantro for garnish (optional)
Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
2 chiles (optional)


3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic
1 teaspoon ginger
1 tablespoon lime
1 tablespoon sugar

Remove seeds; and cut mixed bell peppers, carrot and onion into strips; finely chop cilantro and spring onion; slice chiles

Cut beef into thin strips

Mince garlic; grate ginger; squeeze lime

In a small mixing bowl, add soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sugar and lime juice

In a wok/ pan over medium high heat, add 2 tablespoons of cooking. Spread beef strips out evenly over the wok/ pan

Stir the strips until they are cooked to your liking. Season with salt and pepper.

Transfer beef onto a plate, put aside

Return wok/ pan over medium high heat, boil the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil, dd onions. Cook for a few seconds, then add carrot. Cook for another 2 minutes

Add bell peppers, cook for another 2 minutes (or to your liking)

Add in meat, chiles and spring onion. Cook for a few seconds, then add the sauce mixture. Cook for another one minute, stirring frequently

Garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds
